I knew it I knew it I knew it! I knew that guy is a shameless bastard! There are a couple of things that I guessed right, but on the other hand they are obviously dragging this out in order to fill the last 3 hours of the show:

• One of the two things I guessed right: James Heller is indeed alive. When his car dove and submerged into the lake, they showed some big bubbles coming out of the water. I thought may be Heller's not done. It's still unbelievable that an old man like him survived such a fall.
• The whole thing about getting the plane to land before the fighter jet shoot them down, I don't know what to think about it. That pilot + terrorist dude repeatedly said the plane was descending too quickly and that stretch of the highway is not long enough, yet when it was all said and done the plane didn't even get a scratch. Man, at least make it have a crushed landing gear or something you know…
• Come on man, everyone knew Bierko is going to escape when they keep showing him and the driver dude staring at each other. How obvious! Where's the surprise??
• Logan's trying to apologize to his wife before his tried to kill himself was just lame. Apparently he thinks what he did to Martha was wrong only when his plan was about to fail.
• The other thing I guessed right: Miles is an ass! This minute he says he doesn't deserve to be shut out because he has been loyal; the next minute he sells out his boss. I hope someone will kick this guy's ass before this season is over.
• Chloe was careless and let that bastard erase the recording. One the other hand, what kind of device he was using to erase it? Does it generate a strong magnetic field? Isn't the recorder supposed to shield against things like that?

During next week's preview they showed the recording goes kaput, Bierko is up to something, and Jack turns attention to Henderson once again. I wonder how the heck they are going to wrap this thing up. Without the recording Logan is pretty safe, may be Jack can somehow squeeze some information  from Henderson on Graham and try target those three instead. I don't know. Let's see what will happen next week.

There’s not much to talk about for this episode. It’s mostly about Jack trying to find out which passenger on the plane has the recording, and a few things here and there.

• As soon as Chloe walked into that bar and the camera pointed to that drunk dude, everyone knew the guy was going to cause trouble. The amusing part was how Chloe dealt with him: a couple of nice shocks from her stungun. As usual, Chloe did it in a way that makes you laugh.
• Miles continued to be an ass. Buchanan was right, Miles is a little ass-kisser.
• Thanks to Martha Logan going nuts Mike Novick is getting reallly suspicious of Charles Logan now.
• I was surprised at how long it is taking for Audrey/Curtis/Henderson to get back to CTU. They didn’t show up for the entire episode.
• That Federal Air Marshal guy, wasn’t he kind of weak? Jack took him out easily, got his gun and badge and all that. I hope the real FAMs aren’t this bad.
• When the pilots tried to suck the air out of the baggage area to get Jack, he came up with this trick where he pulled these wires from the ceiling that made the plane unstable. That’s a pretty convenient trick, and kind of scary too if one thinks about it. Wouldn’t someone be able to easily crash a plane by pulling those wires?
• At the end Graham told Logan that he intercepted a call between Chloe and Karen Hayes. How did he do that? Weren’t they supposed to be on some kind of secure line? Or there’s another mole inside CTU?

From the preview of next week’s episode, Graham told Logan that he has shoot down the plane and they showed how Jack and the copilot dude trying to avoid being shot down. You know, everyone knows they will be fine. Even if the plane gets shot down, it probably will crash in a way that Jack will be able to make it out in one piece. It’s only a matter of how it happens. Let’s see what will happen next week.

More bad guys showing up in this episode. I kind of don’t get it though. Why now?

• So Audrey did turn out to be okay. Unfortunately her father Heller was not. I wonder just how many plan Bs (or CDEFG for that matter) Henderson has prepared. Jack had Henderson captured but Henderson’s men in the chopper had been following Heller that if Henderson didn’t contact them in time Heller would be killed. Heller refused to become a hostage and drove his car into a lake. I suppose he’s dead, but somehow I have this feeling that he’s alive.
• It was funny how Chloe was bossing Buchanan around when she was trying to set things up to help Jack. “I hope you don’t mind I’m bossing you around…since I don’t work for you anymore!” Heh Heh Heh.
• So Aaron Pierce was indeed being dealt with by Logan. Did he really only has Aaron transferred? Although I would think even Logan couldn’t just order to have him arrested or killed for no reason.
• Who are these new guys who seems to be behind everything, and make Logan looked like a puppet and Henderson like a little field op? Let’s see, there’s Robert Romano…..errr (if you are an ER fan you know what I’m talking about…), I mean, that Graham dude and two other conspirers. Are these people some CEOs of the Big Oil that’s why they can crap on the President of the United States? (Well, Logan is a wuss to begin with…) I’m not sure, but isn’t it kind of late to introduce these guys as the true villains?
• Karen Hayes finally came to her senses and tipped Buchanan that CTU agents were coming to get Chloe. What took her so long? On the other hand, that Miles bastard couldn’t stop grinning with DHS finally absorbed CTU. I just can’t stand that guy. I really want to smack him in the face.
• Jack found out Henderson handed off the recording to another person and that guy was getting on a plane that seemed to belong to some diplomats. As usual, Jack just cruised through the checkpoint and got onto the plane easily. My gosh, that was some TIGHT security there! Were they trying to poke fun at the airport security (which should be better than a normal airport, with all that military presence and etc) or that there’s nothing Jack can’t do?
• I can’t help but think that at the end of all this, Graham and those guys won’t get caught. Their plan obviously will be foiled by Jack but they probably will just sit back and let Logan take the fall. On the other hand, I don’t believe the recording will be made public and let presidency collapse just like that. (Heller did have a point there.) Chances are, I think Logan will resign and leave just like what Heller wanted. As for Henderson, he is so dead, unless he is put in jail so he can be brought back next season, just like what they did with Nina Myers.

In the next episode, Jack seems to turn into a plane hijacker. Did they come up with this idea to coincide with that new 9/11 movie United 93? Okay, may be I’m just being a conspiracy theorist here, let’s see what happens next week…

AS USUAL – SPOILER WARNING!

The good guys were all in big trouble in this episode. I couldn’t believe how careless/stupid James Heller was, and it really led to his own downfall at the end.

• I was surprised Jack would call Bill Buchanan right from the start. He didn’t even explain to Bill why he was set up to take the fall. It seemed that Bill didn’t mind at all though. Geez, Jack should at least let Bill hear the recording.
• I was *very* surprised by how Heller dealt with Jack after he received the recording. I really thought Heller was going to cooperate just like that. Heller’s reasoning for why it’s a bad idea to go public with the recording makes sense, but he wasn’t careful enough to think things through before he acted.
• That Miles bastard is really a bastard. How dare he set up our cult heroine Chloe like that! >:| On the other hand, I think Chloe should take some of the blame for trusting that paranoia chick. I mean, she just met her a few hours ago.
• Karen from DHS was getting suspicious about what’s going on inside the Administration. I wonder when she will wake up.
• I didn’t know besides being a geek, Chloe is such a good pickpocket. Miles is not just an ass, he’s a stupid one at that. By the way, how the hell did Chloe find out where Miles put his keycard anyway??
• I really laughed out loud when Chloe threatened that chick to put her through psychiatric evaluation if she reported Chloe. The look on that chick’s face was just too funny. Not to mention the way Chloe made her threat. She is just too funny to watch.
• The First Lady wanted to know what’s going on when Heller showed up to see Logan. Again she turned to Aaron Pierce for help. (The way she asked for help was kind of….errr, wasn’t very First Lady-like.) When she went to the staple to meet Aaron, she only found his cellphone at the meeting place. Was Aaron being found out by Logan and killed??
• This is where James Heller was being careless/stupid: he was right that he shouldn’t keep the recording himself. He was dead wrong to leave Jack, Audrey, and two of his guys behind at the airport. Come on, the airport is not a safe place by any means. Since he already had Jack tied up, he could’ve just dump him inside the trunk of his car, and drove them to a safer location before he went to meet with Logan. It was this mistake that led to Jack giving up the recording when Henderson arrived and took Audrey hostage. When Henderson got the recording, Heller’s plan of getting Logan to resign and go quietly collapsed.
• The move by Henderson of cutting Audrey’s artery to force Jack’s hand was really smart. It was effective and there was nothing Jack could do, unless he would let Audrey die just like that.

From the preview of next week’s episode, it seems that Henderson couldn’t get very far away before Jack catches up to him. Audrey seems to be alright as well although she was wounded pretty badly and lost quite a bit of blood. Logan said he has dealt with his wife, I wonder if he really killed her. Let’s see what happens next week.

SPOILER WARNING: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

This episode turns the President into a complete villain. And he’s using his power to get Jack. They are really in trouble now.

• I still think to have the President be the biggest villain doesn’t make any sense at all. I mean, starting in this episode he throws away that anxious, weak face and suddenly becomes assertive and strong. Like I said last time, what a good actor he was the whole time. It would be more believable if he wasn’t such a wuss before.
• Since Logan is revealed as the villain, the Vice President Gardner suddenly loses his evil,scheming face too. That change is so obvious as if to remind viewers that “Hey! I’m not the bad guy! It’s my boss!”
• I thought Evelyn would have the evidence with her when they went to meet Henderson. How does that work? Now that I think about it, how come Henderson didn’t ask to see and verify the evidence before letting go the little girl? He really had the upperhand at that point.
• I didn’t think it was wise for Jack and Wayne to leave Evelyn alone, wounded staying in the hotel with her daughter. I would think at least Wayne should’ve stayed behind. Oh well, it can’t be helped that the little girl called 911 when her mom fainted. Henderson found them and I think they are going to die.
• That poor bank manager dude. When I saw that Jack was going to have the guy open the bank by force, I knew this guy is dead. This is like a golden rule in 24: if you happened to be an innocent civilian and you happened to have the misfortune to be enlisted by Jack for help, you are more than likely to get killed. As soon as Jack got the evidence, the bad guys conveniently arrived and the poor guy was killed during their escape.
• On the other hand, Jack was shrewd to get the LAPD to battle Henderson’s men. It was also kind of cruel because they were pretty much being used as human shields.
• The DHS people are a bunch of dumb asses. They actually thought Audrey wouldn’t know her car was bugged? Come on. It’s even more ludicrous that they put the transponder at such an easy-to-find location.
• I really hate that dude, that DHS lady Karen’s henchman. He has “Hello I’m a bureaucrat and I’m an ass” written all over his face.

I did get to see the preview of next week’s episode. They are in a world of trouble. Audrey is being followed by the DHS/CTU agents. It seems that Jack is going to be ambushed at the airport when he meets up with Audrey. (I wonder what the DHS agents’ faces would look like when Secretary Heller shows up.) Chloe gets set up by the paranoia chick and the bureaucrat bastard and it looks like she’ll be arrested. I really hope that bastard would go down in flame before this season ends. Let’s see what will happen next week.

I won't even bother with the spoiler warning. I'm 3 days late because I missed the show and had to watch a taped one later. There are only a couple of things that I wanted to comment on:

• If Audrey was going to sell out Buchanan to help Jack, she should at least let him know in some way before he left. I feel kind of bad to see him go like that.
• The bombshell at the end didn't make sense at all. They are telling me President Logan is behind all these? Isn't the President such a good actor this whole time! If he's the mastermind, then what's up with the whole mess with Walt Cummings? They should be working together right? In that case I'm sure Logan wouldn't need to be convinced to let the Russian rebels take the nerve gas. I'm not sure I'm buying it. They need a lot explaining about why Logan is the mastermind.
• Is that mean the Vice President isn't a bad guy? Or he and Logan are just pot and the kettle?

I didn't catch the preview of next week's episode so I have no clue what's going to happen. I expect a full explaination of this "Charles Logan the most evil President in US history" thing. If they don't explain this well this is going to be one of the worst plot twists of the show.

Oh boy isn’t it nice to be proved wrong. Last time I said I believed Audrey Raines really is the one who sold the schematics to Collette. It turned out I was wrong (not surprising) and it’s more complicated than it looks. On the other hand, with how the things are going, I wonder how they will drag this story through for another 9 episodes.

• Last time I was wondering who the hell were those guys that attacked Wayne Palmer, it turned out it was Henderson’s henchmen. How the hell did he get those guys pass the checkpoints? If they had been hiding there before martial law was declared, then how did Henderson know Wayne would definitely pass through that road?
• It was Audrey’s turn to get the Burke’s Special. But it turned out she was set up by Henderson, who told Collette to use Audrey if she got into trouble. Sneaky bastard.
• The new girl that replaced Edgar is downright weird. At first I thought she is a victim of that perverted DHS bureaucratic jerk. (I forgot his name, but he has “I’m a jerk” written all over his face.) I thought Chloe was pretty cool for standing up to that dude. But then the new girl was horrified just because Buchanon patted her on the shoulder when complimenting her for her good insight. It seems that she has some kind of paranoia problem and that DHS dude, although he’s still a jerk, may not be a pervert after all. Again, Chloe’s facial expression after finding out what the girl is really like is priceless.
• Btw, the new girl said she went to CalTech. How come she doesn’t look like a nerd at all? That is SO unconvincing! ;-)
• Where the hell did Wayne Palmer get that big-ass automatic rifle with green LED and all that?? I thought he was unarmed when he escaped from his car? That green LED looks kind of fake. It reminds me of the Alien movies, or FPS like Quake or Doom.
• That was a close call at the natural gas plant. As usual they were barely able to stop it when the clock was ticking down to the final seconds.
• Jack, once again didn’t seem to remember he is not immortal, went after Bierko when the plant was exploding left and right. They were making it somewhat a cliffhanger at the end but everyone knows Jack is going to be fine. There are 9 more hours left and the show needs him to be alive. ;-)
• Now the questions. With the canisters gone and Bierko pretty much captured (or dead), the only guy left is Henderson. What the heck is he scheming? What did Wayne Palmer find out from his brother’s computer? There seems to be a lot of people involved inside the administration. The First Lady’s aide also seems to know something too. In order to “drag” this on for 9 more episodes Henderson must be planning something big. With the foreign terrorists gone, are we dealing with domestic terrorists now, or there’s another group? Can’t wait for next week.

There wasn’t much to comment, except for the bombshell at the end, because Jack was mostly following new leads:

• If CTU is indeed being absorbed into DHS, what’s going to happen next season?
• Alright, can someone tell me just how the hell Jack programmed a SD card to self-destruct when data is being uploaded? I mean, unless someone educates me this is possible with today’s technology, this simply doesn’t make sense and it’s a cheap ripoff from James Bond (or is it Mission Impossible?). May be I would believe it if the card would self-destruct when data is accessed without proper authentication, but *only* to self-destruct when data is being uploaded is a load of crap.
• So Jack not only pissed off the Chinese government, now he pissed off the German government as well. May be when all is said and done, Jack would’ve pissed off the entire world and would have to live in Antarctica or something.
• What’s up with Wayne Palmer? What did he find from David Palmer’s computer? More interestingly, how come he didn’t contact Jack but Aaron Pierce?
• Who the hell were those guys who attacked Wayne? They actually hided behind the roadblocks. Should I assume those masked men are government SWAT teams or something? If that’s the case, then Vice President Hal Gardner is extremely suspicious. Is he also behind the assassination of Palmer along with Walt Cummings? (That means Cummings didn’t cough up everything after all?)
• Now the bombshell at the end: Audrey Raines gave that Collette lady the schematics? What the hell is that all about? Is Audrey going to become another Nina Myers? From the preview of next week’s episode, Jack is interrogating Audrey and he goes into his well-known “berserk mode”. (He really believes in equality of men and women does he…?) That scene totally reminds me of Nina Myers, except that Audrey is playing innocent instead. May be that Collette chick framed her, but to be honest, I think that seems unlikely.
• Actually on second thought, during the preview it seems that Jack is chasing Bierko to that facility where he is going to release the nerve gas. That means Jack finds out what kind of schematics that is and that also means Audrey does spill the beans. Of course I assume that Collette chick was telling the truth that she doesn’t know the detail of the information she obtains.
• Similarity between Nina and Audrey: they both look very skinny. Is that this show’s stereotype of traitorous women?

I think I really should add a spoiler alert here. Although I assume people would know. If I haven’t watched the episode yet, what’s there to talk about? It’s also not much fun if I couldn’t reveal anything, so there you go: SPOILER ALERT! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! DUH!

The body count continued to rise in this episode. If they are going to do another season I think they’ll need an entirely new cast except Jack, and may be Chloe.

• Just what kind of corrosive agent they put in the Sentox gas that can eat through the sealing material? That stuff can eat through the sealing material and not cause any damage to humans who are exposed to it?
• Chloe was devastated after watching Edgar kicked the bucket. But when she got her acts back together, she also turned her razor sharp tongue up a notch. The stuff she said to Barry was hilarious. This is why she is a fan favorite. What’s up with this breathing thing again?
• Chloe’s conversation with Kim was also priceless.
• I was wrong in my previous 24 post that I predicted Tony would be the guy who sacrificed himself. It turned out to be Lynn. I feel bad for that security dude though. It was just like he said, Lynn’s embarrassment cost them their lives.
• They mentioned that the gas masks were in the armory. If that security dude was going to stay behind and wait for his death, how come they didn’t at least try to have him go get the masks while Lynn reset the system? Although I’m not sure if the masks were useful when the air was already contaminated.
• I wonder if the DHS people are any useful. They look like they will just be another bunch of Lynn McGills.
• Christopher Henderson is such a MONSTER that I wonder if he’s human at all. The part about him faking “being cooked” was ridiculous. That torture dude Burke had put him through hell and he managed to recover that quickly? Come on now, who’s going to believe that? Not to mention Burke is a professional too, how Henderson managed to fake it without being found out is beyond me.
• Even more ridiculous: Henderson not only regained consciousness insanely quickly, his strength also returned insanely quickly that he managed to kill Tony. Geez, why did he even bother to get captured to begin with? He could’ve just take out the entire CTU by himself.
• Okay Tony, you being one of the more senior members of the cast, I feel bad to see you go. Especially when you didn’t go with a bang. Actually I didn’t expect to see you this season. But then, if you were alive you can show up again later just like Kim. It’s really too bad. I thought you and Jack make a pretty team.

The preview didn’t reveal much about next week’s episode. They only show Charles Logan gave in (what’s new?) and declared martial law. (And thus chaos ensues.) It seems that Jack has got another lead to follow. (Oh DUH!) I wonder what they are going to do with Henderson. I can’t wait for next week. I also wonder should I start watching Prison Break. It looks pretty good. But I’ll have to go find the 13 episodes or so already aired and watch them all before next Monday. That’s a little too much to swallow I’m afraid.

I just finished watching tonight’s 2-hour special of 24. The 2nd hour was especially good. I was totally on the edge of my seat. My thoughts:

• I am shocked that Jack would shoot Henderson’s wife. I am even more shocked that Henderson wouldn’t budge even after his wife was shot. I guess the guy used to be Jack’s boss for a reason.
• When I saw that Lynn’s loser sister’s boyfriend refused to return the ID card, I knew the terrorists were going to get their hands on it to get inside CTU.
• I don’t understand why they just have to bring Kim back on the show. It seems that they have make up some family/love affairs for Jack just to make him appears more human. Kim really doesn’t add much to the story, except getting in the way EVERY SINGLE TIME.
• The whole mess about the attack at the hospital, do they have a container that is more portable? I mean, how come they couldn’t make a more portable container so that they can bring it into the hospital to contain the sentox canister? Is it really THAT difficult to make a container like that?
• I thought Tony would’ve known Michelle was dead. When the car bomb first exploded and Tony went to check out his wife, she already looked pretty dead right there. I really thought Tony would realized that already.
• What’s up with the VP’s plan of “preemptive martial law?” That’s the stupidest plan I’ve ever heard. On the other hand, do they have to keep showing us every week what an incompetent moron Charles Logan is? Is that what we get after 3 seasons of David Palmer?
• I can’t believe CTU’s keycard can be reprogramed so easily. If it contains that much information, then it should have security measures to prevent tempering of data. That terrorist dude reprogramed it in 5 minutes simply doesn’t make sense. Were they trying to show us our government is really that incompetent?
• How could the security guard not notice something was wrong with the guy? First, if he only replaced the image inside the card, then the name would still be Lynn McGill right? For someone of Lynn’s rank and who created a big ruckus just a while ago, how could the guard not recognize it was the wrong guy? Let’s say he changed the name as well, how did he get his hands on the list of CTU employees? When the system was doing the authentication, shouldn’t it have the employee’s image on file to compare to the one on the card, along with names and other information?
• This Henderson dude is really a monster. Both physically and mentally. He withstood the torture and didn’t give in until the end. Sheeesh.
• What kind of black technology was used to design the CTU office anyway? They actually could seal the room to prevent nerve gas sneaking in? I bet even the White House doesn’t get this kind of protection…
• Poor Edgar, last season (or was it 2 seasons ago?) he couldn’t help his sick mother to evacuate and she died. This time it was him to kick the bucket. It’s pretty sad to see him go like that.
• I don’t think I saw Lynn after they started the evacuation. Was he dead too?
• From the preview of next week’s episode, they said 40% of the CTU was wiped out. They also mentioned that one guy would need to make a sacrifice to save others. I kind of think that it would be Tony. Let’s see what’s going to happen next week.
