A Deadline of Nothing

So the Sox didn’t make any deals at the trading deadline. The rumored Manny trade that involved the Devil Rays, the Mets, and the Sox didn’t materialize. I’m glad they didn’t trade Manny. If he is traded I think Ortiz will never see a ball close to the strike zone again. Seriously, this whole obsession with Manny is getting ridiculous. He always seems to get all the flak over silly little things while other players get a pass. Manny wants a day off? Omigod! What a lazy SOB! Trade him for a bucket of lard! I guess nobody realizes he’s averaging over 150 games played for the past two seasons. Manny jogs to 1st again? Get him outta this town! Don’t tell me he’s the only player on the team who jogs to 1st occasionally. I’ve seen many of his teammates did it. Manny makes another error in the outfield? Get rid of him right now! Where was the outrage when Nixon lost count of how many outs and threw the ball into the stands? Please, just gimme a friggin’ break……

Put it simply, if the Sox want to make the playoffs, they need Manny. What the hell do they think they are doing to a guy who is on pace for 40+ homeruns and 130+ RBIs?
